these things i feel but can't express
and i'm not askin' you to guess ‘cause

how hard it is to pretend
the one that you love is only your friend
and to that end

how many times it was on the tip of my tongue
but me being afraid of what we might become
and instead of sounding dumb
i thought it might be better if

i know you've never lied to me
but its just a matter of pride, see

the deceit and pain i've dealt with
and i know I sound selfish
but i can't help it
so if you don't know
then i don't have to do anything right now
i don't think i'm ready to make any type of commitment anyhow

maybe its better this way
i know i'll have to deal with this someday

Agree wholeheartedly with Urban. The open and honest professions of emotion is truly felt here. I too wish more men could express themselves openly.
I recognize that to be able to do what you've done is a gift, but damn, can we get at least 50% of the gift you've got?
Btw, I turned a couple friends on to your page, but they can't post comments because they're not bloggers. Can you change your settings so non bloggers can leave comments. I'd hate for you to miss out on exposing your wonderful ability to others.

On another note, I think females should look at a gentlemens actions. Yes, words are nice and definitly add to a womans mental stimulation. Females know males have a hard time expressing themselves verbally. We do it better with action. I think females SOMETIMES spend to much time trying to make a bull into a cow. But I hear my female sisters loud and clear.

@ Scrivo...I hear what you're saying but I disagree. Women should not only look at a man's actions BUT ALSO listen to what he says. You can also learn alot from what he DOES NOT say. You know better than I do that sometimes men say one thing and do another (woman too but I'm only focusing on men since you brought it up). If the two don't jive, than there is confusion and misunderstanding. So women should STOP, LOOK and LISTEN.
ub - thanks. actually i've always felt i had a problem expressing my thoughts/feelings. i never looked at poetry as a form of communication because 9 times out of 10 the person the poem is about never knows of its existence. also some to the things i write aren't really about me per se, alot of the time i'm looking through the eyes of someone else. if i can relate to what they're feeling it makes it easier to write.
